Biography

Jim Cooper is a very versatile and committed bass player from Wolverhampton in the West Midlands. Reliable and flexible, specialising in Funk and Jazz. Working professionally as a session bassist since 2002 with many different groups, both live and in the studio, he offers his services as an experienced session bassist. Centrally based and available for work in any musical style, nationwide and at short notice for live shows or studio recording.

Currently working with Darkside - The Floyd Show, the covers band Divine Brothers and Latin/Jazz Drum & Bass group, Torre Bert Quartet.

Jim has worked alongside producers Pedro y el Lobo and Fantastic Mr Fox, U.S. hip hop trio elevatedSOUL, the progressive jazz outfit Fast Idiots, acoustic duo The Buzz, singer/songwriter Aaron Yorke and mastered the Blues with the Archer-Marriott Band and electro/acoustic group Remnants. He was also a founding member of the pioneering Space Jazz Afro Funk ensemble PaperTiger.

Booking

Jim can be booked for all types of session work nationwide. Live shows, studio sessions (either by the hour or daily) and tours. As each session is different from the next session rates are determined individually.
